Club closed tournament 2010

This is a tournament only for members of the club. Karen and Matt, the ladies and mens captains respectively, are very, very keen that lots of people enter. As with the lottery, you have to be in it to win it - or to make sure that whoever eventually does win it, has to play lots of matches to do so.   As it says, in the attachment, there will be a plate competition - so even if you are not called Roger or Serena there should be something for you.

Sport Relief 2010 - thank you!

Thank you so much for sponsoring us in our attempt to play a 12-hour non stop tennis match.
We started at 9am on Sunday morning and Team Federer immediately went into the lead.
After trailing by quite a margin throughout the first part of the day, Team Nadal then gradually made a steady comeback to beat Team Federer by 121 games to 104 in an exciting climax at 9pm. We completed our target of 12 hours continual matchplay and everyone had a lot of fun.
Over all we have collected for Sport Relief about £800.00 in total from on-line donations and on the sponsorship forms so that is fantastic! Well done everybody!

Each time a reservation is made, members profiles are updated with those upcoming dates, as well as displaying past bookings. Club administrators have advanced access to BookIt and are able to manage all user accounts and book larger periods of time for training sessions or special events such as tournaments or closures.

Every page on the site has a button on the left hand side.

Non-members who wish to book a pay and play court must contact our coach Rob Norris or a committee member so that they can make a booking on your behalf and ensure someone is around to unlock the gate for you if necessary and also collect the money - £2.50 for each player, per court, per hour. Become an LTA member and help Warsash Tennis Club

LTA logoPlease can those of you who have not yet become members of British Tennis seriously consider doing so?
One good reason is that the LTA kindly lent us money for the 4th court.

A more significant, and selfish, reason for doing it is that our Wimbledon ticket allocation for next year will be based on our number of British Tennis Members. For info, last year it was based on our Membership, using the 'formula' of 1 adult = 1 mbr, 3 juniors = 1 member, meaning we had 90 'members'. Our allocation was then based on what proportion our 90 was to the total membership across Hampshire, which this year resulted in us getting 7 pairs of tickets.

Currently, we only have 45 of our 125 members who have joined British Tennis, which I think would reduce our allocation significantly.

Joining is very easy all you need to do is go to the LTA website and fill in a few details. The website will also describe the other advantages of being a Member. Membership is free until at least the end of 2012.

The Wimbledon allocation is done based on the number of Members of British tennis that we have by November - but don't delay - do it today!

Final thing - Junior Members who are 10 or over will now count as one whole person now, and will be eligible to enter the draw.
